Who doesn't like Thursdays? Thursday is like an introduction to the weekend. In my case, this is my favourite day of the week. I would compare the feeling of Thursday evening to the feeling of the day before leaving for summer holidays...but mini version.Together with friend of mine, Anne, we have our own, private tradition of going for a coffee or glass of wine in the Thursday afternoon, to summarize the week and plan the upcoming weekend. It makes Friday even better:)

Talking about planning the weekend... I would like to recommend you one event, which will take place at the Merikaapelihalli of Helsinki’s Cable Factory on 24 and 25 April 2010. It is The Recycling Factory event, which " offers visitors a goods market, sales market and information market, along with workshops and shows. More than 80 exhibitors, including recycling and environmental organisations as well as design companies, are represented at the event."

"The Goods Market operates on the principle of “bring & take”. Throughout the weekend, you can bring clothes, toys, books and other household goods that are fit for use to the market. You can take with you anything you need.

The Sales Market has clothes, jewellery and bags made of recycled materials to offer, as well as organic products.

Do-it-yourself workshops offer an opportunity to show your skills in making a piece of jewellery for Mother’s Day or making new favourite clothes of recycled material."

I recommend it because of two reasons.First of all: I love the idea and recycling in general and second reason is that among exibitors are many of the designers you know from madeby.fi: Ilomieli eco design, Designhuone,Sysimetsä Design, Syko Design.

 

 

It is not only a place where you can buy orignal , re-born things. Organizers took care that there is a lot of happenings.
